I mailed Jeff Hammaker and I got this back from him. I hope this helps those of you who were interested in the subject of Idle steppers.

Mechanical and easy to build for under 5 bucks.

Look at the gas pedal and the area above the pivot point. I mounted a thick piece of steel that extends on the top of the pedal up a couple of inches on the same plane as the pedal. at the top of this bracket I tapped a 1/4-20 thread into my steel extension bracket and ran a 4" long 1/4-20 threaded rod through the threaded hole which is close to the top of the rather large bracket that holds the pedal in place. On the end of the threaded rod I mounted a Radio Shack replacement knob for radios and this has a set screw to hold it in place.

The principle applied is that you screw the rod down and when it contacts the pedal mounting bracket it starts to "pull" the top of the pedal towards you and "pushes down" on the actual pedal increasing rpm's.

It works and you can put a wing nut on the rod to lock it in place at normal or high idle positions.
